I love film and indoor theater performances.  My daughter Mikala opened my eyes to the creativity and joy of performance when I looked to plan a vacation we could both enjoy as she is such an indoor person with a passion for acting and I am a planner and organizer who loves the beauty of nature and the production of beauty in all areas of our homes and lives - Both are, I now know, real challenges.

 

So I discovered a week-long short film competition on the beautiful waters of Astoria, Oregon. While I had initially intended for her to join "another" film team to act during the week, instead I "created" the team around and with her, becoming its producer before I actually understood what it really meant in the industry.

What an undertaking - to concept, cast, scout locations, script, film, edit and score an 8 minute film in just 5 days all with original material. Please watch our movie "The Find" directed by Kirk McKenzie. I will be forever grateful for what they all brought to me.

 

We created a great film and Mikala walked away with the overall Best Actress award for her work in it. I have been bitten by the "bug" of videography and the amazing complex world of film ever since then. What joy!
